Eden Viaduct

Not the most spectacular structure, this six-arched, curved viaduct was built to withstand the strong currents of the River Eden, flowing through Carlisle. It carried southbound trains towards the city's Citadel station on the much-missed Waverley route.

Although not in great condition and the focus of some vandalism, ETC/265 is now protected by a Grade II listing.
